King Ahab had led God’s people to worship false gods. Elijah wanted them to know that only God is real. He told the prophets of Baal to call on their god to send fire, but nothing happened. Then Elijah prayed to the one true God, and fire came down from heaven! Everyone saw that God is powerful. God can do the impossible!
