This month, the little ones learned that Christmas is all about God’s love. In Week 1, they discovered how God sent an angel to Mary with the good news that she would have a very special baby, Jesus, God’s Son. Mary listened and trusted God. In Week 2, they learned that Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Even though His bed was a manger, His birth was the greatest gift to the world. Through both stories, the children learned that God loves us so much, He gave us Jesus.

Elementary kids began the Christmas story by looking at God’s plan from the very beginning. In Week 1, they learned from the prophets Isaiah and Micah that God had promised to send a Savior, someone who would bring peace, hope, and rescue to the world. In Week 2, they saw that God kept that promise when He sent the angel Gabriel to tell Mary that she would be the mother of Jesus. Even when people had waited hundreds of years, God’s plan never changed. Each week reminded the kids that Jesus is good news for everyone, and God always had a plan to send Him.

Each week, they’ll engage with Scripture and create a drawing inspired by what they’ve read or heard. God made Himself known by becoming visible through Jesus, and we want preteens to experience that same connection.
